The Origins of Mysteries

Mysteries is a relatively new group, formed by musicians who have been active in the music scene for many years. The group’s origins date back to the early 2000s, when Greene and Haynes began performing together. They were both part of the jazz scene, and their musical styles complemented each other perfectly.

Mysteries is a jazz group based in New York City. The group’s name means “exploring each others’ mysteries” Group member says he doesn’t believe in jazz as a genre.

The Concept of Connection in Jazz

Jazz is often perceived as a complex and challenging genre, with its intricate harmonies and improvisational nature.

Pleninger’s concept of music as a social glue is reflected in his own life. Born in 1943, in Munich, Germany, he grew up in a culturally diverse community. He started playing the trumpet at age 12 and later switched to the trombone. Pleninger studied at the University of Music in Munich and later earned a doctorate in trombone performance from the University of London. He began performing professionally in the early 1960s, working with notable jazz musicians such as Benny Goodman, Dizzy Gillespie, and Bill Evans. Pleninger’s performances were influenced by his experiences with European classical music. His work with the jazz musicians exposed him to a wide range of musical styles.
